Sunset Right is an advanced, heavy reef break on Sumba’s south coast. Accessible mainly via surf charters, it requires a south-west groundswell. It offers long, fast walls and steep takeoffs, performing best on low tides and during the dry season (April–October).

Getting to Sunset Right

Sunset Right is in West Sumba, located near other popular surf breaks: Pinnacles and Kerewe. You need to first fly into Tambolaka Airport as your gateway to Sumba. You need to decide on your means of transportation in advance, the most preferred options are motorbike rentals or hiring a driver with car. Your journey from the airport to the surf break will typically take about 1.5 to 2 hours.
