Villa Haweri

Haweri Estate is an exclusive five-bedroom luxury beachfront villa hideaway situated on the headland of the famed NIHI Resort. Set on a five-acre estate between forest and sea, on a revered headland that extends into the ocean with its own private beach backed by pristine tropical jungle, Haweri offers splendid isolation in one of the most unspoiled regions of Indonesia.

The estate comes fully staffed and comprises five individual villas decorated with Indonesian artifacts and some of the best examples of the famous Sumbanese Ikat weavings. Each villa offers a private terrace with ensuite bathrooms. Guests have access to four swimming pools, a ten-person jacuzzi, a waterfront yoga and meditation area, a secluded bamboo beach pavilion, and a spectacular living and dining room perched on a hilltop with 180-degree views of the ocean, the sunsets and the legendary Nihiwatu beach.

Experience

For centuries Haweri’s secluded site has been revered by the Sumbanese people; in their language, Haweri means “sacred” and “protected”. Long ago the Marapu priests identified this headland as a place of overwhelming positive energy and peacefulness. Now guests can enjoy it at full.

Haweri offers a myriad of choices: pools to hang out in, beaches to explore, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards launched right from the private beach. There are hammocks meters away from the sea, yoga and massage available in your room, and at the end of the day a fire pit with family and friends, music through a superb stereo system, cocktails, and the sun dropping into the sea. Surfers will find classic left-hand reef breaks during calm swell windows, best from April to November, with trade-season mornings offering offshore winds and glassy conditions.

Service

Haweri Estate is fully staffed by a full-time team of 18: a Villa Manager, chefs, butlers, villa attendants, 24-hour security, a pool attendant and gardeners. Included services cover three daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and all non-alcoholic drinks), daily afternoon tea and coffee, daily housekeeping, turn-down service, a welcome drink, Wi-Fi, and airport transfer service (conditions apply).

The chef is trained in both local and international cuisine and offers an extensive suggestion menu of home-style Asian and international dishes, with vegetarian, vegan and children’s options, and is happy to tailor meals to any dietary requirements.

Additional services, from yoga and fitness instructors to massage and in-room beauty treatments, babysitting, VIP airport arrival assistance and bespoke concierge planning, can be arranged through the Villa Manager. A private chauffeured car with an experienced English-speaking driver can be hired during your stay.

Design & Layout

The five villas are individually designed and decorated with Indonesian artefacts and Sumbanese Ikat weavings, each with a private terrace and ensuite bathroom.

Menara Villa (325 m2) is the centre villa and the largest, with a 22-metre infinity pool, a ten-person jacuzzi, and a TV lounge convertible into a second bedroom for children; it is kept in light, calming cream and white tones with natural terrazzo floors, and features a king bed facing the infinity pool and ocean, a large vanity with two natural stone sinks, and a private garden with outdoor bathtub and shower.

Surf View Villa (91 m2) is a one-bedroom villa set directly on the ocean’s edge, just meters above the high tide line, with an expansive ironwood sun deck, a freeform infinity pool, a thatched living and dining pavilion, and views straight out at the surf and the takeoff spot of Occy’s Left.

Pool Villa (108 m2) is a hilltop villa with its own plunge pool and wooden deck overlooking Haweri cove, the beach and the two Pinnacles known as the Guardians.

Tree House (219 m2) is a two-storey villa sitting between two massive Kasambi trees right over the private beach, with a bamboo shower and an upstairs air-conditioned bedroom with furnished deck.

Jungle Villa (125 m2) is bordered by sacred tropical forest with ocean views toward the Pinnacles and Haweri Cove.

Haweri Estate is located near the famed NIHI Resort. Airport transfers will be arranged through the estate’s Concierge services, and a private chauffeured car with an English-speaking driver can be hired during your stay.
