About Pero Lefts

Pero Lefts surf spot is a consistent reef break located off the traditional fishing village of Pero in Southwest Sumba. Famous for its hollow, high-performance left-hander that reels for up to 100 meters, it also offers a more challenging, expert-only right-hander across the river mouth. Pero Lefts picks up more swell than Pero Rights.

Getting to Pero Rights

Journey to Pero Lefts is same as the journey to Pero Rights. Since Pero waves are located in the island’s southwest, you need to fly into Tambolaka Airport in West Sumba. You can rent a car or hire driver at the airport. You will need to drive approximateely 2.5 hours towards the southwest to catch the wave.

Where to Stay Near Pero Lefts

Most popular resorts and surf accommodations are located far from Pero Lefts. If you aren’t part of a large group, you can stay at the homestay within Ratenggaro village or Merzy Homestay in Kodi. Arya Sumba, a renowned beach resort is located further west.
