A legendary, world-class wave located in front of the Nihi Sumba resort on the island of Sumba, Indonesia. Also known as Nihiwatu or “God’s Left,” it is named after Australian surfer Mark Occhilupo. Access is highly exclusive, typically limited to guests of the resort.
Getting to Occy's Left
Getting to Occy’s Left is quite straightforward. You just need to fly into Tambolaka Airport, from where NIHI Sumba will arrange your journey to the resort. The transfer will take about 1.5 to 2 hours by car (or much shorter if it’s by a helicopter).
Where to Stay Near Occy’s Left
Occy’s Left is only open for the guests staying at NIHI Sumba and Villa Haweri.
Only 15 People at a Time
NIHI Sumba has a 15-person slot for Occy’s Left, which allows only 15 people at a time to ride the wave.
