How to Get to Watu Libung

From Waingapu, the major town in East Sumba, drive southwest toward the southern coastline for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours via scooter or 4×4 vehicle. The roads leading directly to the beach can be unpaved and challenging, so careful navigation or a local guide is highly recommended.

The area surrounding Watu Libung is highly remote with minimal commercial footprint. Visitors typically stay in eco-lodges scattered along the southern coast of Sumba or base themselves in larger surf camps further west, utilizing daily boat charters or overland vehicles to access the wave
