Premium Real Estate Development of a Gated Community with Bespoke Villas

We are developing a premium, sustainable gated community of bespoke villas to high design and construction standards, with shared facilities and independent power, water and wastewater systems. As Solar PV Engineer, you will oversee delivery of fully off-grid hybrid systems integrating solar PV, battery storage and backup generators for individual villas and shared facilities, working with specialist designers and contractors. You will report to the Project Manager.

Target start: 1 December 2026, or as soon as notice allows.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess villa and shared-facility loads, solar yield, battery autonomy and phased power requirements with the MEP Engineer.
  • Review fully off-grid hybrid designs, equipment specifications, battery and energy management controls, protection, earthing and genset integration.
  • Support supplier selection, prioritising reliability, coastal suitability, local service support and spare parts.
  • Inspect installation and verify commissioning under load, including autonomous operation without grid support, battery cycling, genset start and load control, and fault recovery.
  • Coordinate building power interfaces; verify monitoring, operation and maintenance documentation, operator training and defect rectification before handover.

Essential requirements

  • Relevant engineering qualifications and valid SKK Konstruksi for the electrical construction scope; relevant SKTTK where assigned duties require it.
  • Solar PV experience, typically 5 years or more, with hands-on delivery of fully off-grid hybrid systems integrating PV, battery storage and gensets through installation and commissioning, supported by a verifiable project track record.
  • Practical knowledge of modern battery technologies, battery management systems, PV modules, hybrid inverters, energy management controls and genset integration; ability to assess sizing, reliability and installation quality.
  • Working English for technical documents, coordination and reports; effective Bahasa Indonesia strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to be based in Sumba or work agreed extended site rotations, including commissioning.

Experience ranges are indicative; candidates with strong relevant experience and demonstrated results are encouraged to apply.

Preferred experience

Island or resort systems, PVsyst, HelioScope, HOMER or equivalent tools, battery safety, and operational handover.

Location and compensation

Full-time presence in Sumba is preferred. Extended site rotations followed by approximately one week at home may be agreed around project needs. Housing options may be provided. Market-level compensation will be determined after interview; housing, travel and rotation terms will be agreed as part of the package.
