Kedai Kepo
Kedai Kepo, a newly launched food stall in September 2024, is located across from the Christian School in Waikabubak city. Known for its halal offerings, the stall specializes in piscok (pisang coklat), a chocolate-dipped banana snack that, while typical of Indonesian cuisine, is a rare find in Sumba. Customers can enjoy a variety of toppings, including cheese, milk, tiramisu, and green tea, all for under $2, making it an affordable yet indulgent treat.
In addition to piscok, Kedai Kepo offers nasi kepal (rice balls) at an incredibly low price of Rp. 5,000 or approximately $0.33, a unique dish that has quickly garnered attention for its value and delicious taste. Despite its budget-friendly menu, the quality of the food remains exceptional. The stall’s accessibility is further enhanced by accepting digital payments, making it a convenient and appealing choice for both locals and visitors.
