Wairinding Hill
Wairinding Hill, located in Pambotanjara village within the Pandawai district of East Sumba, is just a 30-minute mountain road drive from downtown. This vast expanse of savanna turns golden during the dry season and lush green in the rainy season. Several concrete steps lead from the street to the top of the hill, which is renowned for its perfect sunsets. Visitors can rent horses for picturesque photo opportunities. The hills are interconnected by long, narrow paths, making it easy to explore the area on foot. At the base of the main hill, there is a vendor selling beautiful traditional Sumba ikat textiles and a food stall offering coffee, nuts, and noodles.
