Indonesia is issuing Forced Circumstance Residence Permits (ITKT) and waiving overstay fees for foreign nationals stranded by Anak Krakatau ash cancellations. Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko said 520 flights were cancelled between 5 and 7 September 2026, affecting 86,760 passengers. The permits are free, valid for up to 30 days, and can be extended if airspace stays closed.
