Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism is launching the “2026 Tourism Safety Program” to standardize and strengthen safety, risk mitigation, and emergency response across the country’s destinations.

The program aims to adapt to a global paradigm shift where travelers prioritize safety, quality, and sustainability alongside a destination’s beauty, thereby boosting Indonesia’s international competitiveness.

Success relies on collaboration between the central ministry and regional tourism offices to build local human resource capacity in occupational health, safety, and environmental principles.

The ministry had recently implemented Regulation No. 6/2025 to modernize the national travel sector
