The Ministry of Tourism has officially implemented Regulation No. 6/2025 to modernize the national travel sector through stricter licensing and safety certifications. Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasized that these standards are designed to transform tourism governance into a more professional system, ensuring that destinations like Sumba and Bali maintain high-quality safety protocols for international and domestic guests. Last year, the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) had approved Law No. 18 of 2025 to reinforce an ecosystem-focused tourism industry. Bali had also recently proposed new travel regulations to enhance quality tourism.
