Waimangura Corn Farm
Located in Waimangura village, adjacent to the farmers group “Maju Tak Gentar,” a corn farm is managed by a collective of local friends. The corn is harvested annually on fields also used for paddy cultivation. Following the December paddy harvest, corn planting commences in January or February, with harvesting taking place between June and August. The farm covers approximately 1 hectare, with harvested corn utilized for sale, personal consumption, family support, and community sharing. Visitors are encouraged to explore the farm and interact with the farmers, known for their hospitality. Engaging with them offers valuable insights into farming practices and community life in West Wewewa.
