Ubi Manusia Farm

Located in Lolaramo, a village nestled within Waimangura in West Wewewa, human-shaped sweet potatoes, locally known as “Ubi Manusia,” are cultivated and processed by local farmers. These sweet potatoes are named for their distinct resemblance to humans and their substantial size. They are highly valued as a unique variety native to Sumba, typically harvested between June and August. Post-harvest, farmers meticulously pack them into sacks and transport them to local markets for sale. Typically, they fetch around 10,000 rupiah (approximately 0.69 USD) for a bundle containing 3 to 4 pieces.
