New data released in late 2025 by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) revealed that international visitor spending in Indonesia reached an all-time high of IDR 344 Trillion in 2025. This 12% increase over pre-pandemic records was driven largely by the growth of “niche” destinations like Sumba and Labuan Bajo, which attract higher-spending travelers looking for stays longer than the traditional 3-day Bali trip. Combined with the island’s recent recognition as the “Best Travel Destination in Asia for 2025″ by TimeOut, this performance is forecast to scale further in 2026.
